As the cool air settles in and the leaves start to change, we begin our transition from the busy summer season to the quieter days of fall and winter here at CC Bloom. While the farm may seem to slow down, behind the scenes, we’re hard at work preparing for the next growing season and making sure everything is in place for a successful year ahead.
Fall is an important time on the farm. We spend a lot of time tending to the fields—cutting back plants, preparing the soil, and getting the grounds ready for winter. It’s about making sure that the farm can rest and rejuvenate during the colder months so we can come back strong in the spring. We plant cover crops to protect the soil, clear out the remaining blooms, and take stock of what worked well this year and what we’ll tweak next season.
But it’s not all about winding down. Fall is also a time of reflection and planning for the year ahead. This is when we look at what new flowers we might grow, what events we want to offer, and how we can continue to improve the farm. We take feedback from our customers seriously and think about how we can create even better experiences—whether it’s a new variety of flowers for our U-Cut events or additional markets and gatherings for the community.
For our guests, the Fall Market is a chance to stock up for the winter months. We focus on offering seasonal goods and local products that can carry you through the colder months—whether that’s produce, preserved goods, or handmade items that make perfect gifts as we head into the holiday season. We also offer U-Cut opportunities for those who want to gather the last of the season’s flowers before the frost settles in.
As always, we’re grateful for the support of everyone who’s been part of our journey, from our customers to the vendors who bring their best to our markets. The winter season gives us time to regroup and recharge, but we’re already excited for what’s to come next year. Thank you for being part of the CC Bloom family, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
